Growth Of Lladro Figurines In The 1980s

To assure the continuity of Lladro in the future, the Lladro Brothers invited their children to become Directors of its Board. Thus, Rosa, Mamen and Juan Vicente underwent extensive training to prepare themselves for great responsibilities in the company and one of them is to be part of its creativity committee.

Growth overseas is growing by leaps and bounds. In 1986, there was a joint venture with the Mitsui group of Japan, a figurine dealer. There were also subsidiaries set-up in China, Australia, U. S. and the United Kingdom.

Lladro Figurines were introduced to the world with the setting up of Lladro Museum in the prominent 57th Street of Manhattan, New York.

Another milestone in the artistic department of the company is the “Flowers of the Season” line where porcelain blooms into grace and freshness of flowers. A special group of artists is dedicated especially to the task, petal by petal.

LLadro Figurines fans composed of more than 100,000 members organized themselves into a Collectors’ Society in 1985. Their first annual sculpture was Little Pals.
